Butler Women's Lacrosse is a program that started with a few girls who met just to toss a ball around and scrimmage. After three years of a few games against neighboring teams and practices, an urge for more competitive and a higher level of play took over. The team itself petitioned to become a part of the Womens Collegiate Lacrosse League in 2006.
Today, Butler's team travels to Chicago, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and throughout Indiana to play in tournaments and regular scheduled games. This team has advanced so much in skill and unity through the last seven years that it now is contacted by varsity teams for games.
It is through determination from team members and a love for this fast-paced, growing sport that Butler Lacrosse has become one of the most recognized club sports on campus and throughout the city of Indianapolis.
